PRAISE PRICE PRAY PAY (2016)

Transubstantiation, the Christian process where bread and wine transforms into the body of Christ, entails communicants becoming part of the body of Christ upon receiving the Eucharist. Praise Price Pray Pay explores the spiritual significance of integrating the body with artificial materials. What vain is it that the blood of petrol is streaming through? To whom does the flesh of rubber belong? What authoritarian figure is it that we become part of, intermingling our bodies with that of the Son?

Chicken bones dipped in silicone, cast of a human skin in wood glue, hand wrapped in rubber foam, polyester thread & dipped in acrylic paint.
